The Four Point Contact Thin Section Ball Bearing produced by KOMEL are precision bearings. The cross-section of the bearing is mostly square. In the same series, regardless of the changes in the shaft diameter and the bearing bore, the cross-sectional dimensions remain unchanged. This design helps maintain consistent performance and structural stability among bearings of different size specifications.

 

The thickness between the inner and outer diameters is relatively small, usually less than 10% of the bearing diameter. This gives the bearing a smaller cross-section and axial dimension, achieving the miniaturization and lightweight of the product, and making it suitable for applications where space is limited or where weight is a sensitive factor.

 

Both the raceways of the inner and outer rings are in the shape of pointed arch grooves, and theoretically, the steel balls have four-point contact with the inner and outer rings. This design enables the bearing to withstand radial loads, bidirectional axial loads, and overturning moments. It can be equivalent to two angular contact ball bearings installed back-to-back, but its width is only equivalent to that of a single set of angular contact ball bearings, effectively saving installation space.

 

These bearings are characterized by high load-bearing capacity, high precision, low friction, and lightweight, and are widely applied in fields such as industrial robots, medical devices, aerospace, machine tools, and optoelectronics and optics.
